Vintage Venue || Union Terminal

The American love affair with trains and train travel may have waned a bit in recent times, but thankfully some of our most beautiful train stations are still around. There has always been a romantic appeal to rail travel, and even in cities where the stations are no longer a travel hub, we’re lucky that many have been repurposed… and a few are now gorgeous event spaces, perfect for vintage themed weddings!

Now, I’ve seen a lot of photos of beautiful art deco architecture, plenty of images of weddings in all kinds of vintage venues, but I have to say that the photos of Union Terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio (now home to the Cincinnati Museum Center) quite literally took my breath away. Can you imagine the perfect art deco evening you could have here?

Click through to the museum’s Event Information page for details on planning the perfect art deco event at Union Terminal. And then send me a link to photos of your wedding afterwards (so I can post them here and we can all ooh and ahh and be jealous.)

Vintage Venue: The Thaxton Building

The venue search is one of the first and most defining elements of the entire wedding planning process. We’ll be featuring fabulous art deco wedding venues from around the world for thematic inspiration and (for those who live close enough) as actual “ooh, I want to book this!” ideas. First up: The Thaxton Building in St. Louis, Missouri.

Built in 1928 and newly restored, this is definitely a dream deco wedding location!
