Those of us born in December may have to battle the holiday season for a little bday attention of our own, but at least we’re lucky enough to have not one, not two, but three “official” birthstones: Zircon, Turquoise and Tanzanite. All three are various shades of blue (ideal for brides in the market for their “something blue”!).
We’ve previously featured some gorgeous zircon art deco jewelry, so feel free to visit that post for some zircon inspo, but today we’re all about… TANZANITE. Sparkling, deep blue, art deco tanzanite jewelry. Discovered in the 20th century, the colors and shades of this modern gemstone can achieve truly rich and striking blues.
Ready? Here we go. First up, this elegant art deco tanzanite and diamond necklace. This would be a breathtaking bridal accessory, or perfect gift for a December-born loved one. Absolutely stunning!
Next this beautiful art deco tanzanite cocktail ring (though in truth, this one’s a bit of a cheat: it’s a paste stone with a tanzanite hue… but too pretty not to share!)
Next we’ve got this incredible gold art deco tanzanite bracelet. There’s a vintage, machine-age look to the detailing and setting, and those brilliant blue tanzanites are bold and beautiful.
Today we’re featuring the crystal blue hues of some stunning vintage pieces of art deco aquamarine jewelry. Not only the birthstone for March (happy birthday Marchies!), aquamarine is also the ideal ‘Something Blue’ stone for a bride: versatile, elegant and available in a variety of price points. First up we’ve got this spectacular emerald cut …
This is just… it’s almost unbearable. TOO GORGEOUS. TOO MUCH. I die. Circa 1930s emerald cut aquamarine ring with rubies. Glowing rose gold band, art deco shape, absolute perfection. Full description (and $7650 price tag) available at Lang Antiques.
I was talking with a friend about birthstones the other day and (for some reason) brushed off March’s designated gemstone, aquamarine. Then, later in the week, I saw this art deco aquamarine beauty listed online and felt… genuine shame: WHAT. WAS. I. THINKING. Right? Because good lord. First of all, it’s like I forgot all …
Today we’re delighted to share some stunning pieces of Art Deco topaz jewelry — rings, necklaces and antique brooches all in antique or vintage inspired designs. One of two November birthstones (the other being citrine), topaz can take on almost any color of the rainbow. Red, pink and imperial topaz are the rarest and most …
