For today’s feature we’ve got Erin and Eric’s warm, elegant gold and navy 1920s style wedding, sent to us from Angel Project Photo. With a truly spectacular vintage venue (Hempstead House in New York), stunning florals, and beautiful, classic details throughout, this is an absolutely perfect 1920s style wedding: wonderful to browse and ideal for inspiration!
From the bride and groom:
We had our reception at the Hempstead House, an old estate near Erin’s childhood home. We had the entire venue to ourselves for the whole day. We arrived early for hair and makeup, and to get ready. It was a fairly calm morning, even though we had the bride, two mothers, eight bridesmaids, three flower girls, and a puppy to get ready!
Eric, his groomsmen, and the fathers were on the other side of the mansion getting ready in the grooms quarters.
It was tempting to sneak over and say hi, but Eric was adamant that the first time he wanted to see me was when I was walking down the aisle. [ed note: it was worth it for this moment!]
We had the ceremony at St. Stephen’s Episcopal church, where Erin had been baptized.
After the ceremony we went back to the Hempstead House. We fell in love with the old estate and we felt as though it was a blank canvas to make completely ours. We went with a Navy and Gold theme to honor Erin’s father who graduated from the Naval Academy.
As the guests walked in, they were greeted by waiters with our signature cocktail, the big apple mule, served in engraved copper mugs.
At the end of the day we were exhausted, but wanted to do it all over again! It was the perfect day and we wouldn’t have changed anything. We just wanted it to keep going! It was a beautiful whirlwind and we loved every second!
