Art Deco Vintage Industrial Wedding | Lorraine + Christopher
Today we have a gorgeous, intimate vintage industrial wedding from Andrejka Photography. With a old-school venue and simple, elegant touches throughout, this glamorous Art Deco industrial wedding is a knockout.
From the photographer:
Lorraine and Chris had dreams of eloping to the lavender fields of France or to the sun-drenched islands of Greece. Lorraine’s father’s illness, however, necessitated a sudden change of plans. Despite the quick timeline and emotional circumstances, this couple, who met through a mutual friend when he was visiting Florida from Maine, created an intimate wedding with a vintage, glamorous vibe.
Set against the edgy and dramatic backdrop of the Station House in St. Petersburg, Lorraine’s dress, off the rack from Nordstrom, exuded old Hollywood glamour with its sleek lines and stunning scooped back. Her jewelry, including the necklace that so perfectly complemented her dress, consisted of family heirlooms except for her platinum tennis bracelet which was a gift from her dad.
Lorraine and Chris chose St. Petersburg’s iconic Station House as the ideal venue for their intimate wedding and reception. Formally a firehouse and a train station, this 1911 structure boasts many unique spaces – both indoors and out – that provided the perfect industrial chic backdrop. From its dark and moody spaces, to its quirky palm-frond wallpaper, the setting underscored the elegance, vintage glamour, and modern touches that culminated in a gorgeous and timeless celebration.
The Monstera leaf played a subtle role in uniting various elements of the day. It formed the base of Lorraine’s bouquet, striking in its simplicity. It was also echoed in her shoes. In lieu of a guestbook, each guest was prompted to sign a tiny wooden Monstera leaf to drop in a shadowbox. It appeared again as a charm tied to the grapefruit scented candles handmade by Lorraine’s friend and chosen as favors because the grapefruit scent reminded Lorraine of her childhood home in Florida.
The single tier, multi-layer cake by The Artistic Whisk featured flakes of edible gold leaf. Small but stunning, it was the centerpiece of a cake bar that gave guests a variety of delicious desserts to enjoy.
