I have very few regrets about my wedding day, but one eensy tiny teensy one did pop up after we got all the photos and the video and we were oohing and ahhing over everything and then I looked some more and… umm.. oh. Hey, so… why didn’t anyone tell me my hair looked like that towards the end of the evening? And by “that” I mean “like I had sprayed it with maple syrup and then danced in front of an industrial strength fan for 20 minutes.” But you know what: as regrets go, I’ll take it. I loved every minute of my wedding, and my hair did too.
HOWEVER. You may want to do something I did not: bring a purse, or have someone set it down at your table on your wedding day. Not a giant hobo bag, just a lovely little art deco clutch with some essentials in it (like a mirror, or whatever those essentials are to you: Powder? Cigarette? Lip Gloss? Flask?). And so today’s post, helpful to any lady enamored of art deco style (not just those who are getting married): art deco bags! Perfect vintage style clutches, just for you.
Next up, for a bride with a more daring color scheme (or for a lover of art deco any other time) — this gorgeous green and black clutch from Diane Von Furstenberg. I love the colors, I love the machine-age chain strap, I love the design, I love it all.
I also love the sturdy squareness of this Swarovski Kiosque Evening Bag. Vintage style minaudières are lovely, something very satisfying about those clean lines, no?

Just a quick post today, a sort of mish-mash of art deco bits and pieces I’ve found while poking around the net for content for our site. The theme? Blue! Now, I myself am quite a superstitious sort, so you’d better believe I had my “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue” …
How pretty is this stripey, swingy dress from Shabby Apple? (Answer: super pretty). The drop waist adds a little roaring twenties feel, and the stripes are the perfect bold accent. Engagement party outfit? Rehearsal dinner dress? Honeymoon? All of the above?
I’ve been meaning to do a bridesmaid-specific post for a while now, because there are so many gorgeous flapper looks for your bridal party… Photo via Unique Vintage. I just hadn’t managed to get a post together… But I’ve finally been spurred to action by a great tip from ADW reader Heather, who pointed me …
Well, everyone, it’s that time of year… the most wonderful time of the year! OK, OK, so some may disagree. But I myself am a sucker for the holiday season no matter how you slice it: flavored-coffee-wise, weather-wise, music-wise, decoration-wise, cookie-wise… and of course… the parties! Whether you’re hosting, guesting or just going out for …

First up: this fabulous Streamline Minaudiere by Judith Leiber. GORGEOUS.

Also a fan of this copper beaded crystal clutch from Inge Christoper. Just lovely, right? The colors alone are perfection (it also apparently comes in a black and silver variation.)

Another Art Deco beauty from Judith Leiber , and this is absolutely incredible! (with a price tag to match).
I also love the sturdy squareness of this Swarovski Kiosque Evening Bag
