Those of us born in December may have to battle the holiday season for a little bday attention of our own, but at least we’re lucky enough to have not one, not two, but three “official” birthstones: Zircon, Turquoise and Tanzanite. All three are various shades of blue (ideal for brides in the market for their “something blue”!).
We’ve previously featured some gorgeous zircon art deco jewelry, so feel free to visit that post for some zircon inspo, but today we’re all about… TANZANITE. Sparkling, deep blue, art deco tanzanite jewelry. Discovered in the 20th century, the colors and shades of this modern gemstone can achieve truly rich and striking blues.
Ready? Here we go. First up, this elegant art deco tanzanite and diamond necklace. This would be a breathtaking bridal accessory, or perfect gift for a December-born loved one. Absolutely stunning!
Next this beautiful art deco tanzanite cocktail ring (though in truth, this one’s a bit of a cheat: it’s a paste stone with a tanzanite hue… but too pretty not to share!)
Next we’ve got this incredible gold art deco tanzanite bracelet. There’s a vintage, machine-age look to the detailing and setting, and those brilliant blue tanzanites are bold and beautiful.
Take a look at this beauty: a diamond and sapphire art deco engagement ring from Fay Cullen. Classic 20’s style, with an emerald cut diamond at the center and a contrasting cornflower blue frame of art deco sapphire baguettes. Pretty, pretty, pretty! (image via Fay Cullen Estate Jewelry)
Well it seems spring has sprung, at least around these parts, and what better way to celebrate the season than a look at some vivid green art deco emerald jewelry! Emeralds, like spring, are a symbol of life and of rebirth, and have been prized since ancient times. They’re also the birthstone for lucky May …
Finding true vintage art deco pieces is always a treat, but finding well-designed 1920’s style jewelry is also nice (and much, much budget-friendlier). This Kenneth Jay Lane art deco oversized ring is a lovely modern take on a classic style. Architectural details, with an emerald green crystal at the center. (via ShopBop)
Well, I recently realized there’s one important (some might say vital!) wedding day accessory I’ve yet to post about on the site. We’ve done multiple ring posts, with beautiful vintage style engagement rings and oh so pretty art deco 1920s cocktail rings… but it would appear we haven’t addressed the one ring to rule them …
